Life in Minneapolis is terrifying for our immigrant neighbors. Somali mothers, fathers, and children are hiding in their homes to prevent federal ICE agents from detaining and arresting them. Teenagers are being tackled in the streets outside their high schools. Business owners are closing their doors out of fear of reprisal from masked agents carrying automatic weapons.

We are in an unprecedented time here in Minneapolis and are in desperate need of your help. Our families are running out of food. Children are not going to school. Businesses are closed. We are holed up in our homes to keep our families safe. 

SOMFAM runs the Pleasant Café coffee shop in St. Paul to give teenagers and young adults from the neighborhood entrepreneurial skills in how to run a business. The revenue from Pleasant Café helps fund our programming to Somali youth and families. 

And of our programming is on hold due to the fear within our community.
